Our Friends' Cars
Howard and Wilma Lord's 1949 Ford.   They are friends from Lake Ponderosa near Montezuma and had one just like this in their younger years.  The car was presented to them as a gift from their son in 1997 for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Jimi & Jo Day have owned their 1969 AMX for just over a year.  They looked great with their matching red white and blue shirts.  When Jimi was a young man, he used to hang out at the local dealership and dream about one day owning one of these great little cars.  We were honored to place runner up with this beautiful AMX at the 2003 NAMDRA Nationals in Cordova, IL. Their AMX has a 401 cu. in. V8, and loaded with extras. Jimi and Jo are from Grafton, WI, and can be emailed at jimiday@aol.com.
This pristine lilttle 1966 Rambler American convertible belongs to Don Wiese from Rockford, IL.  Don took several honors recently at the 2003 NAMDRA Nationals in Cordova, IL, including best convertible, 1st in its class, and Participant's choice!  This car is powered by a 290 cu. in. V8, with a T10 4-speed transmission.  Don worked at American Motors for 30 years, and spent 2 years restoring this little beauty.  Don also owns a 1966 Classic 4-door, 1971 Javelin, and a 1973 Hornet station wagon.
Jimi Day has just set a new standard for birthday presents!  This shows Jo's 1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible, with a 455 big block.  This rare beauty is one of roughly 300 big blocks built, that wasn't either a 4-4-2, or W-30 package.  Looks like it's time for Jimi to put an addition on his garage!
