Bob Van Essen brought his sharp 1974 Hornet to the 2003 NAMDRA Nationals also this year.  This car has placed 1st in its class 4 times in past years, and this year took 2nd place.  Bob has owned this car for 15 years and keeps it in  excellent shape.  This car is heavily optioned and boasts a 360 cu. in. V8  with an automatic transmission, and is considered as relatively rare.  Bob worked for an AMC dealership for 10 years before starting his own shop, Van Essen Auto in Pella, IA.
We had the pleasure of meeting Jim Dahl while at the Columbus Junction, IA car show.  This shows his 1956 Ford two door hardtop, with a custom interior, and many unique custom features to the body.
This shows Greg Ehret's 1923 Bucket T with a blown small block Chevy engine.  Greg hails from my old hometown area, and it was a pleasure meeting up with him at the Bloomfield, IA car show in October.
We first met Wayne and Jennifer Hansen, and of course "Squiggy," being held by Jennifer, in Fort Dodge.  We then had the pleasure of  running in to them at several other shows this fall.  This shows their pristene Roadrunner with a beautiful deep blue paint job.  Wayne says it will have a "Hemi" in it for next season!
